A few weeks ago, we launched the beta version of our platform. Over the last year or so we’ve been working extremely hard to create the best platform possible for our users. Making sure that our community is positive, safe/secure, and easy-to-use is our highest priority. We’ll work continuously to ensure that this happens. In this post, we’d like to take a few moments to introduce ourselves and provide some insights on where we’re headed.
Who We Are
We like to think that we have a small but mighty team, with the right mix of passion and experience.
Gábor leads MeetJune with eight years of experience as a seasoned travel entrepreneur, having developed, launched and led successful travel concepts in Latin America and Europe.
As Head Officer, Gábor shapes MeetJune’s overall direction and strategy, guiding top-level decisions that define the company offering and culture. He leads community and social media management, manages investor and media relations, and handles finance and administration.
His multicultural background, passion for travel, and extensive track record in creating bespoke, customer-centered travel experiences helps him grow and improve the MeetJune proposition for its community and partners.
As Technology Officer, Ryan designs, delivers and refines the platform that brings the MeetJune concept to life on the web. With eight years of digital marketing and IT expertise under his belt, Ryan leads day-to-day operations for the MeetJune website, ensuring that the platform runs smoothly and securely.
With his experience in e-commerce, project management, and running mobile and digital marketing campaigns, Ryan is also responsible for growing the community of travelers and locals who use MeetJune to host, discover, and book unforgettable travel experiences.
His passion for user experience design and innovation helps him ensure that the MeetJune platform continuously adapts to the needs of its growing community.
How it all Started
It was our transformative stay with a local in Brazil that sparked the idea for MeetJune. After this experience we came to the conclusion that connecting with people and experiencing genuine culture are often the most rewarding parts of travel … not just the sights. We thought that there had to be a better way to facilitate this connection without having to either hire a travel agency or the risk of just ‘winging it’. We envisioned a community driven marketplace that would bring our vision of bridging the gap between travelers and passionate local people to life.
With the feedback we’ve received from travelers, we saw that many people travel in the same way and are bored of doing the same things as many other travelers. Travelers can often end up just ‘observing’ as tourists, while many really want to connect with locals and their culture to have a lasting and rewarding experience. There’s a clear gap between the needs of the traveler and the feasibility of them connecting with unique, local travel experiences.
MeetJune solves this problem by connecting travelers with passionate local people through a smooth, personalized and sleek booking experience on its travel platform.

Whether it’s a delicious 3-course dinner in the heart of the Jordaan neighbourhood in Amsterdam or a market stroll through Barcelona’s La Boqueria, MeetJune opens doors to unforgettable travel experiences with real local flavor. We focus on local people who have something special to offer and would like to share it with the rest of the world. What we envision is a community of passionate local people that could take travelers out to show them the hidden gems of their so beloved city.
Our Social Impact
The United Nations officially declared 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development – and for good reason. With over 1.2 billion people now crossing international borders each year, the power and potential of travel and tourism as a force for good, aimed at fostering intercultural exchange and economic development for communities around the world is unprecedented.
Our primary social impact is that we are fostering the growth of entrepreneurial activity as people increasingly look for alternative sources of income and sustainable economic models. At the other hand there’s a huge amount of travelers that are looking for affordable in-depth cultural experiences.
